New Plymouth Aquatic Centre
Make a splash, for fitness or fun, at New Plymouth’s aquatic centre. The heated indoor pool complex includes a lap pool, giant wave pool, beach area, Tarzan rope, fountains and an inflatable playground during the weekends and public holidays. There’s also a toddler’s pool, spa pool, steam room and a sauna.
Heading outdoors, you can look out over the Pacific Ocean as you enjoy one of three pools or the giant Wet n Wild water slide.
Fun Ho! Toy Museum
See magnificently-presented examples of the entire collection of over 3,000 Fun Ho! Toys. Fun Ho! Toys began in a basement in Wellington and are now sought-after collectible, true ‘Kiwiana’.
Pukekura Park
This huge park is a real asset to the city. Open daily (with free admission), it offers visitors of all ages a great time. There’s a 10.6 metre-high man-made waterfall, three playgrounds, fernery and display houses, a glorious central fountain which features 14 spray combinations and 22 colour schemes at night, row boats to hire for a leisurely paddle around the main lake, friendly ducks to feed, loads of pretty picnic spots and a zoo!
