This stunning sleeping giant is a haven for trampers and hikers, rock-climbers, skiers and snowboarders. Walks of varying lengths (from 15 minutes to the 5-day ‘round the mountain’ circuit) will see you discover clear mountain pools, lush mystical forests and awe-inspiring views. You can even hike to the summit crater and up to the peak.
A 30 minute drive from our Taranaki holiday park will take you to the base of this dramatically beautiful and sacred mountain. There, you can visit the Egmont Visitor Centre to learn more about the mountain, its history, its myths and legends and its natural assets.
